If you are moving, simply let us know, the good news is that in many cases you can carry your agreement to your new residence. If you are no longer buying natural gas or moving to an area that is not serviced with natural gas, our agreement will terminate.

I’m locked in with a door-to-door retailer, how can I ensure I switch successfully to Energy Cost Control’s program?

Great Question! Watch for the sneaky auto-renewal tactics used by typical door-to-door retailers, these include cheques that renew you once cashed, letters that need not be answered that are simply notifying you of your new start date, or pamphlets that appear to be junk mail notifying you of your renewal.

The renewal rates of door to door retailers are typically very high. If you get renewed automatically you are not completely caught, Ontario energy law states that you can cancel in writing within 35 days of receiving your first renewed bill.

Is Energy Cost Control affiliated with Enbridge or Union Gas?

No. Enbridge and Union Gas are regulated natural gas distribution utilities. They are responsible for the safe and reliable delivery of natural gas to your home or business. These utility companies do not sell gas nor do they provide any fixed rate plans or creative purchasing solutions. In Ontario, consumers are able to choose their supplier and their method of purchasing according to their budgetary objectives.

What if I want to complain about gas marketer?

Get the badge number and Gas Marketer's License number (all marketers must carry a valid identification badge)

Contact the marketer's employer and allow them the opportunity to respond to your complaint.
